About Me

Welcome to Go Find Your Soul, everyone! I’m so excited to have you here.

You are about to embark in a journey to finding happiness and better mental health without relying exclusively (or at all, if you prefer) in prescription drugs.

Maybe you are like me and you grew up in a family where everyone has every possible, thinkable, imaginable health issue and for, everything you ever said you felt, someone had just the right pill.

But maybe you have noticed also that, no matter how many pills all of them (or you) took, the illness was still there. So if you’re sick of that cycle, you’re in the right place!

FYI by no means I am saying here that I don’t believe mental illness needs to, sometimes, be treated with medication. I am only saying that the medication helps you, but doesn’t fix you. You fix you! You are so much more than you diagnosis.

My name is Marina and, to be honest, I am also fairly new to the whole control your mind, control your life thing.

It’s actually very hard to say exactly when things started going south for me, I suspect it was really early on, when I wasn’t old enough to pay attention – I was a very angry child, that ,of course, only got told off for being a brat; then I was a teenager who was never sober, and I just got labeled as “the crazy girl”; then I was just a miserable adult (who was also never sober), and I was the antisocial one.

When I first decided seeking help, at about 21, doctors were very quick to pump me up with anti depressants that were supposed to make me feel better. I think my diagnosis was chronic depression with traces of borderline personality or something. And I believe that, I had nothing else. As a result, I spent over ten years on heavy medication that simply did not work.

I was miserable, I had no will to live and, after a while, I started believing that that was just me! That I was a sad person, it was never going to get any better.

Not too long ago though, I had a stroke! Right? I was 29, and I decided that if my life could end so abruptly, I would make damn sure it had been worth living.

So with a drastic change of scenery (which you don’t need), the help of a therapist and lots of study, I found out that what made me depressed were simply thoughts. That’s right, “only” thoughts!!!!… in which I believed deeply, and that made me feel insignificant, alone and like the world was out to get me, but I also learned there were tools available to control and change these thoughts and give me back my will to live.

And my life changed!

I feel like there’s so many of us struggling with mental diseases such as depression and anxiety nowadays. There is a dangerous western medical trend of medicating the symptoms without knowing the causes and the result is billions of people taking medication for life and never, EVER getting any better.

I believe it is time for us to take our lives back, by taking our minds back!

In order to control your mind you need to know it, hear it, then calm it, understand that your thoughts are not you and that there’s is nothing more dangerous than going about life believing in everything you feel.

I have found a way to understand myself so much better now! Don’t get me wrong, I am still learning, but I want to bring as many people as possible along with me… show them how amazing life can be when you stop believing in all the crap you grew up thinking was the truth.

I have built this website to share with you all the tools that I have found and will find that can help you find your Soul.

These will include yoga, meditation and even subliminal messages that can change you inside out. Your mind is powerful, it can heal you or make you sick, bring you suffering or joy… which one are you going to go for?

I do hope you decide to come with me in this journey to find yourself! And I see brilliant things ahead.

If you ever need a hand or have any questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out with whatever I can.

All the best,

Your site is powerful and inspirational. I’ll continue to read content as you come out with it.

Wow! A stroke at 29? That must have been terrifying.

I’m curious, do you believe that your subconscious affects your physical health, not just your mental health?

      Hey Colin!
Yes, definitely I believe your subconscious mind can affect your physical health.
As a matter of fact, I believe all illnesses start in the mind somehow.
      What do you think?

If we look at stress for example, how that affects health and suppresses the immune system. That can be measured via cortisol levels, so an actual number and quantitative analysis can be done.

I’m sure the subconscious is playing a role in that.
